IMPROVED |
autodetection of connected storage interface |
PC-3000 Utilities
WD Marvell HDD:
ADDED |
support for the VeniceR Plus 2 Lite family, including unlock support |
ADDED |
module selection for initialization. As a result, you can start initializing any module from SA in HDD RAM. Previously, only module 01 (Dir) was possible to initialize. Renamed "Init dir from HDD SA" mode to "Init custom module" |
ADDED |
"Block custom module access", "Allow custom module access" modes |
ADDED |
"BackGround task activity" checkbox to the value "Disable all background task operation" for the "Solve 'slow responding' problem" solution. As a result, the internal process of WD HDD "Data Life Guard-II" does not start for more HDD FW |
ADDED |
"Do not add the ROM version to the HDD profile name" option in the utility settings |
ADDED |
decoding of HDD initialization steps in the "Power up log" |
ADDED |
the ability to write module 190 to the drive immediately after forming it using translator data |
ADDED |
"MR heads resistance" mode. It allows you to show the resistance value of magneto-resistive heads. Useful for checking heads condition |
IMPROVED |
overall stability in different modes inside WD Marvell Utility. Minor bugfixes. |
Seagate F3
ADDED |
basic support for new families: Mobula, Evans, CimarronBP, EvansBP (Unlock techno mode, functions to work with service area) |
ADDED |
an automatic unlocking of the User LBA -> PCHS function for CimarronBP and other families, where techno function 131 is excluded from the firmware |
ADDED |
an option for DE "Stop Intercommand Activity" (stopping the HDD firmware background process) |
ADDED |
an option for DE "Park (unload) heads" (putting the heads to the parking ramp) |
ADDED |
an option for DE "Check availability of LBA->CHS". In addition to checking, it attempts to activate on families where the function is excluded from the firmware. The action is necessary as part of the sequence for processing HDD freezes (after switching power and unlocking) to continue “reading physics through the utility” |
IMPROVED |
mode for launching code modules in a system with write protection of RAM firmware by processor hardware (Memory Protection Unit). Works in tandem with the new version of the tech mode unlock |
ADDED |
the "View SA objects / Read SA by LBA" mode for all Seagate families newer than EVANS |
ADDED |
the new HDD ROM wizard with built-in support for assembling a logical ROM image (one object) from two ROM stripe files (for families with two ROMs chips joined into a “RAID” stripe) |
ADDED |
the new ROM wizard with built-in support for uploading a logical ROM image (one object) into two ROM stripe files (for writing two ROMs on the programmer) |
ENHANCED |
"TechUnlock Handshake" function. When starting the HDD, in case the drive checks the digital signature of the ROM with an error after adding Unlock Tech, the ability to select the starting block of the ROM firmware "Boot FW" (BFW) has been added, which will allow the drive to start. Relevant for the Evans family |
ADDED |
support for the BuildInfo (CODE Info) structure of revision 0x23 (CimarronBP family and newer) in the information about "ROM/Disk FW" |
ENHANCED |
ROM wizard. The core of the utility for working with ROMs has been rewritten to work with packed data segments. Relevant for modern families in which data segments in ROM are nested in a section of another segment |
ADDED |
the "park heads" techno command to the utility interface. The Spindle Motor will continue to rotate |
IMPROVED |
"volume tables" analysis for the "Disk FW" image and SA partition directory files for the Cimarron BP family and newer families |
Samsung HDD
ADDED |
the firmware name adjustment before saving the ROM dump in the "Reading ROM via terminal" test |
Data Extractor
T2 translator recovery with WDC Marvell Utilities
ADDED |
a new T2 translator recovery implementation for encrypted drives. The new implementation takes into account the possibility of conflicting data about the translation found during the analysis of module 190. The map based drive is now created not from the initial drive that was read by "physics", but it's created from the virtual drive with all possible addressing variants. The translation versions search process is improved due to the accelerated translation uploading to RAM |
IMPROVED |
T2 translator recovery mode for WD drives. Added a possibility to add a disk with "translator uploading into HDD RAM" in Explorer on the drive node based on map, after the translation map creating and versions search. It allows working with the drive at normal speed. Also, there will be only power restart in both scenarios (reading errors and readiness loss). The translator is reloading after the scenario completion |
ADDED |
module 190 creation from map for the drive based on map, that has been made after the T2 recovery process in WDC Marvell Utility |
Forensic features
ADDED |
file report creation for all export options |
ADDED |
MD5, SHA1, SHA256 calculations into report |
ADDED |
a possibility to run the verification for data, written into the forensic file, after the writing completion |
ADDED |
new extensions (001, bin, img, dd, raw) selection for the raw format copy process; |
IMPROVED |
txt file report for the forensic storage creation procedure |
"Thin volume" (LVM2) mode
ADDED |
metadata analysis for the thin volumes. As a result, we get drives with possible data allocation. We can use editing mode for data allocation correction (context drive menu) |
ADDED |
"Tiering" support (the most demanded data on the fastest drive). There is a tab pops up when you add "thin volume", where you should mention partitions with tier_0 (fast drive), tier_2 (main storage) and one of created maps of "thin volume" |
ENHANCED |
versions adding in "thin volume" analysis |
ADDED |
a menu on _tmeta partition for the "thin volumes" analysis |
"Structure viewer" mode
ENHANCED |
structure viewer. The structure parsing time has been decreased a lot; |
ADDED |
PDF-files parsing (without detailed information). Can be used for RAID recovery based on files |
ADDED |
RAR-files parsing |
Additional
ADDED |
support for virtual drives VDI and QCOW2 |
ADDED |
support for SynologyDrive (File system transformation in a form familiar to the user) |
IMPROVED |
reaction to impossibility of file saving due to the lack of free space. Now the file skips and the saving is not interrupting |
ADDED |
a possibility to save each partition to a separate archive during the file saving into ZIP |
ADDED |
a reaction to "Skip" button pressing during the file saving into ZIP |
